Finding your way around johnlewis.com is easy when you know how. There are some things on the screen that will stay in the same place wherever you go on the site and these will help you get to where you want to be.

Clicking on the johnlewis.com logo in the top left corner will always take you back to the Home page of the johnlewis.com website.

The navigation bar
The words in the tabs on the navigation bar directly under the johnlewis.com logo are the names of different areas of the johnlewis.com website.

Clicking on one of these names will take you to a new page that contains all sections included in that area. For example under `at home`, you`ll see various options, like `Bedroom`, `Furniture`, or `Lighting`; if you`re looking for a table lamp, you`d go to `Lighting`. Clicking on one of these links will take you a page that tells you more about what you can expect to see in that section.

The line of type under this bar that will usually start with `Home Page` acts as a map of where you are on the site. As you click through to different sections, this bar will show you how far from the home page you are. You can click on any of the underlined options to go back to that section of the site.

• Customer Service will take you to pages with lots of useful information about the services that johnlewis.com offers.

The shopping basket
Your shopping basket always sits in the top right corner of your screen – in the opposite corner from the johnlewis logo. It shows you the title and quantity of any item you`ve put into your basket. It also shows you a subtotal of the amount you`ve spent so far – excluding delivery. This is because these vary depending on what options you choose.

The search box
The search box is always at the top of the screen so that you can use it from any part of the site.

How to get more information on any product on the site

Once you`ve chosen the item you`re interested in, you can click on its name for more details about it. The page will show you a large, clear picture of the item along with a detailed description. You`ll also see the `Add to basket` button in the bottom right corner of the screen.

If you look again at the screen, you`ll see more information alongside the picture, including:
 

• A stock number to make a note of if you want to find the item in one of our shops

• An availability indicator to tell you whether the item is in stock or out of stock. If an item is out of stock, you will not be able to order it.

• A web reference number which our Customer Services team might need if you contact them.

• A description to give you the information on the item you need before deciding to buy it.
